Ball Valves

Hydraulic Ball Valves comprise of a valve body with a straight-line passageway connecting the inlet and the outlet ports. The valve instrument is a spherical piece attached to a shaft. The ball contains a precision-machined hole that is the same size as the passageway through the valve body.

When the valve parts are assembled, the shaft holds the hole through the ball in alignment with the passageway through the valve body.

An operator is able to rotate the ball by either a handwheel or other type of handle on the shaft. When the ball is turned ¼ of a turn (equal to 90°), the valve is turned from a fully open position to a fully closed position.

When the valve is in the fully open position, there is an unrestricted movement of hydraulic fluid through the valve.
