Brakes

GS Global Resources is proud to offer Eskridge’s line of Multiple-Disc Brakes (parking brakes) from 200 to 30,000 in-lbs. All brakes are burnished in and tested for correct holding torque prior to shipment.

General Information about Brakes:

Brakes:

  • Used for parking only not as a drag brake. (See special caliper brakes for drag brake options.)
  • Mounted on the input side of boxes where there is more leverage, between the box and hydraulic motor
  • Must be careful to not oversize a brake for the rating of a gearbox
  • Most are hydraulic release (brake off) and spring applied (brake on)
  • Configurations consist of:
    • Pilot size of the base (needs to match the pilot size of the gearbox)
    • Pilot size of cover (needs to match customer’s motor pilot)
    • The output side of the shaft (needs to mate with gearbox input)
    • The input side of the shaft (needs to mate with customer’s motor shaft)
    • Holding torque
    • Flow through option for cooling
    • Optional friction packs
    • Some gearboxes have integral brake options
