This row sprayer is used in multiple agriculture application for applying liquid chemicals for a variety of crops. This machine is configurable to accommodate different row spacing and crop heights It can operate in rough terrain, on steep hillside, and on highway at speeds in excess of 20 mph. The prior control system did not monitor machine performance; the open loop controls with no function feedback resulted in inefficient application of liquid chemicals and reduced crop yield. The extensive wiring network required too many man hours to install, was prone to field failure and was extremely difficult to troubleshoot.
GS Global Resources developed a total machine control consisting of a custom dash panel with a a master controller and display and multiple switch panels. GSGR also implemented a load control center that provides power and proportional control to all the machine functions. An application specific program within the CAN control system integrates the hydrostatic transmission, sprayer controls, four-wheel steering control, lighting, boom deployment and motions, and wheel base width. This closed loop total machine control system includes engine diagnostics via J1939 to the integrated display for the operator to be informed of all critical service information. Utilizing CAN switch panels and I/O modules significantly reduces wiring complexity and build labor. The custom dash panel for this machine provides the customer with a world class look and functionality.
