Bent-Axis

Bent-Axis Motor – High- Performance, High-Efficiency at High-Operating Pressures.

Bent-axis motors can be ‘bent’ to an angle of up-to around 40° and have a wider operating torque/speed range than an in-line motor of the same displacement. Not all variable-displacement bent-axis motors have the capability to go to zero displacements, whereas in-line motors do not have this limitation.

The majority of hydrostatic transmissions in mobile applications use swash-plate pumps and bent-axis motors. The swash-plate mechanism is easy to control and has a relatively faster response to the control signal, whereas the bent-axis type larger in size has a higher starting torque with less frictional surfaces.
