Pressure Sensors

Pressure sensors include all sensors, transducers, and elements that produce an electrical signal proportional to pressure or changes in pressure. Pressure sensors are devices that read changes in pressure and relay this data to recorders or switches.

Need for Pressure Sensors
Pressure sensors devices sense pressure and convert it into an analog electric signal whose magnitude depends upon the pressure being applied. Because they convert pressure into an electrical signal, they are also called as pressure transducers and are used in a wide variety of applications. Some of these applications include:

Different kind of pressure sensors
There are numerous technologies by which pressure transducers and sensors function. Each sensor technology will have its strength and weakness. Depending on the application, the kind of measure to be done (absolute, differential, gauge), the kind of fluid to be measured (liquid, gas, viscosity), the range (low or high pressure), the frequency (low or high), an adequate sensor had to be chosen.
