Silage Bagger

This unique machine drives in two different directions, either straight ahead to position the machine and at 90 degrees (traverse steer) for operating mode. The problem with the initial configuration was that the operator was unable to position the front wheels to ensure a safe driving condition. In addition, the multiple manual machine functions could not be operated simultaneously.

GSGR solved these problems by integrating a multi-mode CAN control system with graphic operator display. In either steering mode, the operator has full control over the machine with the use of the steer joystick and feedback from rotary position sensors on each wheel. The operator can conveniently select from 4 different steering methods (front, rear, coordinated, and traverse). Ergonomic joysticks and complete proportional controls provide a smooth operator experience while working in some rugged field conditions. CAN switch panels complete the operator experience with a clean cab layout for improved sight lines. The CAN control system also includes a remote pendant to allow operation of select machine functions external to the cab and the J1939 interface allows fuel efficient engine horsepower management.
